Here are 8 tips I use to practice and play with when I find I am taking myself and life a little too seriously and my funometor seems to be hiding under the clouds.
Hint: Read them and then just pick one or two to start with. I think you will be amazed at how quickly your perspective can change! Don’t think too hard about it, just take action!
1. Running Out of Steam
Sometimes I run out of steam, I feel empty. I have nothing left to give. If I give myself the simple gift of rest and relaxation, I can once again share myself with the world
2. Planning
If I spend 5 minutes wisely now, I will have much more time for myself later. Make lists and then again, pick one that is most important and take action!
3. Baby Steps
When the job ahead feels daunting. I have two choices, I can avoid it, or I can break the task down into small, manageable steps that I tackle one at a time, knowing that with each small step I am closer to my goal!
4. Take Action Affirming what you desire.
I don’t waste time thinking am I doing it right? I say, am I doing it? You got it, then start.
5. Physical
The body is a sacred garment. It’s your first and last garment; it is what you enter life in and what you depart life with, and it needs to be treated with honour.
6. Drop the Balls and Laugh
Instead of trying to keep all the balls in the air all the time, it is good to drop them once in a while and have a good laugh or cry.
7. Savour Silence
Your inner voice tells you what you want and need. Can you hear it? External noise and chaos drown out the song of your spirit.Turn off the radio, TV and cell phone. Sit quietly. What thoughts, feelings, sensations occur?
8. Perspective
I celebrate all that I feel, all that I do, all that I am. I honour my wrinkles, my dimples, my stretch marks and scars. I sing my song, do a little dance and celebrate ALL of me. I am alive.
