The winds of change blow through our life, sometimes gently, sometimes like a tropical storm. We might feel the need for a pause and a relaxing place to rest. We might need time to adjust to another level of living, time to regain our balance, or time to enjoy the rewards of our successes. We also may need time to simply catch our breath. However, change is inevitable and the good news is it can be desirable and fulfilling. It keeps us growing and evolving and engaged in all life has to offer.
Sometimes when the winds of change begin to rustle, we’re not always certain the change will be for the better. We may call it stress or a temporary unpleasant condition, uncertain that we will be restored back to “normal”. Sometimes we resist change. We tuck our heads down and buck against the wind, hoping that things will quickly calm down and get back to the way they were. Is it possible we’re preparing for a new and different looking “normal”? Change will sweep through our life as needed to take us where we’re going. We can trust even when we don’t know exactly where the changes are leading us. We can trust that the change taking place is for our highest good and that the winds of change will guide us where we need to be. And most of all, we need to trust ourselves, knowing we can deal with whatever the wind blows our way.
What changes are happening in your life that you may be struggling with? Are you pushing against the wind or are you being gentle with yourself like a warm summer breeze? Sometimes we need to go through the changes on our own, however we don’t need to feel alone. Sharing with a trusted friend or seeking professional support can be a powerful tool in maneuvering through the changes in our lives and getting us back on the course we desire.
Oh and remember, “This too shall pass!” One of my mother’s favourite quotes in her 90 years of wisdom.
I would love to hear how you’re dealing with all the changes in your life, inward and outward.
In Joy!
