There sure were some exciting signs of spring at the Lovin Livin Centre Sunday March 24th! Approximately 25 fabulous women gathered with their bags, baskets & racks of spring/summer clothing and accessories to exchange at the 5thbi annual Lovin Livin Clothing Exchange Party.
The party started with co-founders of the event, Geri Eakins a
nd Dianna Watson sharing what this popular Lovin Livin Community Event is all about and how we’re growing every year. Then there were the fabulous Lovin Livin Clothing Party team players and personal shoppers’ assistants helping out: Sue Boser, Denise Barnes, Karin Leggatt, Shelly Henderson and Joanne Briscoe. These fabulous ladies kept the fun flowing as stylin women took turns finding treasures to try on. There were oooh’s and ah’s and lots of laughs in between yummy conversations, sipping tea and nibbling on snacks. Special guest and neighbour, Liz Talbot, Executive Director of N.O.W. (New Opportunities for Women) Canada shared with guests the important role that N.O.W. Canada plays in our community and welcomed the abundance of remaining treasures that were donated for the women that live at N.O.W. Canada.
Liz also shared the following post party “Thank you so very much for directing all those wonderful clothes to NOW Canada. Not only was it a fun afternoon for me and a chance to get out and meet a group of awesome women in our community, it also resulted in women at NOW Canada benefiting from the generosity of others.
It’s hard to believe that people turn up on our doorstep with nothing – some with only a small carrier bag of belongings, so having the opportunity to acquire such great clothing is sort of Christmas come early!
Please could you pass on my thanks to all who took part in this event – thank them on behalf of myself, all the staff at NOW Canada, but more importantly from the women who were the recipients of the afternoon’s events”
What a fantastic way to declutter as you sort your unwanted stuff from your closets, recycle your treasures and get new to you clothing and accessories all for $10.00. If you weren’t able to attend this time, don’t despair. This is a bi-annual event, so start sorting now for fall and get ready for a ball! We deeply appreciated all our volunteers and all you fun loving ladies who participated and brought such quality treasures for all to enjoy.
